World Water Day
World Water Day
March the 22nd is World Water Day and Village Water are inviting you to celebrate. You have helped us to transform over 180,000 lives in rural Zambia with safe water since 2004. Incredible!
Safe water is just the start of the transformation, when people have clean water to drink and a safe, private place to go to the toilet their health improves. Mums and dads have more time and energy to earn a living. Children, especially girls no longer miss school because they are ill or needed at home to collect water, entire communities can be lifted out of poverty.
But, there’s still lots to be done. In rural Zambia & Mozambique more than 16 million people lack safe water to drink. They have no choice but to collect water from distant and dirty sources. Dirty water and lack of sanitation causes illness such as diarrhoea and eye infection. Diarrhoea, preventable and easily treatable when people know how, still kills 30 children under five every day.
With your help, we can change this.
World Water Day is all about action to tackle the water crisis. Whether you fundraise, donate, campaign or take steps to reduce how much water you waste you’ll be making a difference.
