‘The water was dirty and tasted bitter. I was always tired because the water was so heavy to carry.’
The water would often make her children sick and Mutinta would spend what little money she had saved on medicine.
But now, things are different.
‘Our lives have changed. We are now drinking clean water. I no longer have to travel distances to fetch it. My children’s health has improved and I am able to spend more time improving my business.’
Mutinta sells maize in the local market and now she has time to make enough money to put food on the table, improve her home and send both her children to school.
