Ruth Braves the Shave

June 26th, 2018

15-year-old Ruth Streetly faced the chop last Monday (18th June) to support not one, but two of her favourite charities. In just a few short weeks, Ruth rounded up lots of local support and raised £1051.22 for our projects – and then donated her 70 cm locks to The Little Princess Trust.

Ruth told us prior to the shave:

“I’ve always had long hair for as long as I can remember, soon I’ll be finishing my GCSEs, and I really wanted to do something different. It’s a pretty big change, but I’ve been able to support two of my favourite charities!”

Local hairdresser Fran Hansen and photographer Birgitta Zoutman kindly agreed to assist. Fran told us,

“I’ve done lots of hair chops for charity, but Ruth is by far the youngest person who’s head I’ve ever shaved. Well done Ruth!”
