We spend most of our waking moments thinking about water, and how unfair it is that so many people don’t have access to it.
With our Mozambican partners WATSAN, this year we’re aiming to repair 200 water points in Manica Province, like the one below Mazicuera Village.
We couldn’t reach as many people as we do without you guys – running marathons, setting fundraising challenges, raising money with your friends and family and donating.
Now our little team of 7 and our Board of Trustees are funding the very first water point we repair this year, by challenging ourselves for the next 40 days of Lent!
Who are we helping?
Ester lives in Mazicuera Village in Gondola, Mozambique. The village‘s waterpoint broke down 6 months ago and since then women like Ester have been walking to the Mussatua River to collect water or filling their jerry cans from open wells.
The water is not safe for consumption, especially now that we are in rainy season. It’s been causing some diseases in this community. There were some cases of Cholera reported.
We are also facing the pandemic of COVID 19, which requires much use of clean water. Boiling water is somehow difficult in the rainy season. The charcoal is very expensive. We do not have money to buy and firewood is hard to find.
As a team we’re aiming to raise £1018 which will help over 400 people who live in Mazicuera village access safe water near their home, along with decent toilets, hygiene training and somewhere to wash their hands so they can protect from COVID-19. Anything extra we raise will go towards helping support another village, so the sky is the limit!
What will be a challenge for the Village Water team is still nothing in comparison to what women like Ester and other families in rural Mozambique have to survive through every day.

We’d love it if you’d support us – or one of us… Things may start getting competitive between the team, so donate wisely!
